The result is the land almost appears to be reaching up and clutching on to the base of the building.
Greenwood Associates was contracted by developer Kells Group to provide landscape architectural services and to specify and supply a sculptural centerpiece for this landmark development on Auckland’s waterfront. Minimalist architectural design by Richard Priest set the tone and provided an opportunity for a landscape that followed suit. Our brief was to tie the building in with the streetscape so we designed steeply sloping lawns that ride high up the buildings façade and slope steadily down to footpath level. We commissioned a bronze sculpture to be the main focus within a courtyard with durable seating.
